To correctly identify isopods, you need to know the basic anatomy. If not, a lot of terms will not make sense.
Body parts used for identification:
Body part | Why | How |
male genitalia | its shape is used to differ between species that otherwise look quite similar | You will probably need a lense or microscope, as the papilla is small |
